Bored in 1991, Qinhuangdao, China, Wenyue Qi received his BA, MA and PhD at China University of Mining and Technology in 2014, 2016 and 2019. He served as an Assistant Professor at College of Civil Engineering and Mechanics, Yanshan University since 2019.

Qi has long term research experience with rock mechanics, backfill mining and ground control, development of new backfill materials, utilization of solid waste resource and environmental protection. He presided over 1 project funded by National Natural Science Foundation of Hebei province, 1 project funded by National Key Laboratory of Coal Resources and Safe Mining, 1 project funded by enterprise cooperation project, and participated in 1 subproject of National Key R&D Program, more than 10 National Natural Science Foundation and enterprise cooperation projects. He has received second prize of China Ministry of Education Science and Technology and second prize of China Coal Industry Science and Technology more than 5 times, 17 domestic invention patents, 3 international PCT patent. He has more than 10 peer-reviewed journal papers published in recent years (SCI 4, EI 1).
